Act Web API cannot access database stored on a network drive

[ Edited ]

I have Act! web API running on IIS7 and want to access two databases. Access to the first database is fine, it is stored on a local drive. I'm having trouble accessing the second database which is stored on a network drive. The error I get is 401 Unauthorized. Is there something special I should be doing to use the API with a database on a networks share?

Act! Version : Act! (Web) Version 22.1.212.0, Update 4

Operating system: Windows Server 2012

You're using Web?

Setting up the right permissions and access for Act! Web is quite complex when the database isn't on the web server. It takes detailed knowledge of domain security, IIS config, and ASP ... before you get to Act!

I'd consider carefully if you really need it setup that way

Here is a link to a general (Non ACT specific) article that I think may help.
