We use Act 2011 on a number of PC's Probably in the range of 20-25. I have always installed it the same way. I was reassigning a laptop with Act already installed and previously working when I ran into this problem.
I logged in to the laptop with the new user account. ( Domain user) and granted local admin rights. When I launched Act, I was prompted to register. When I enter our our registration serial key I get the " We are unable to register ACT!" error.
I have tried un installing, cleaning the registry and any other remnants, reinstall with the same result.
logged in a domain admin and tried install with same results,
runninf as administrator, same results.
Have tried all other suggestions already in this forum.

This message can also occurr if you've reached the limit of activations on the serial key. You can reach customer service at 877-386-8083 to have them verify this.
