I upgraded Act to 2010 specifically for the benefit of combining my outlook database with the act. When linking the two, it basically crashed my outlook/computer. I have plenty of memory, and there was nothing my i.t. guy could figure out. When we disabled the link, both on their own worked fine.
I have recently upgraded to Office 2010 and am trying to decide if it is worth it to:
1) try the link again
2) upgrade to Act! 2011
I feel like I wasted the $1100 for the 5 licenses of 2010 and don't want to do so again.
any suggestions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The outlook Integreation as advertised on ACT 2010 does not work with Outlook 2010. You would need to upgrade to ACT 2011 to take advantage of the integration.
However, We rarely see the symptoms you have described (ACT Crashing the system) without something else going one. ACT 2010 Integration with Outlook 2010 usually just doesn't work (This is due to ACT 2010 not being designed to work with Outlook 2010 as it was released nearly a year earlier.)
