Act.Google.Sync.Common.GoogleServiceProvider error when opening ACT and unable to open Calendar/Task List

Hi

I am using Act! Premium Version 16.0.291.0, Hot Fix 4 on my Microsoft Windows 7 Professional x64-based PC.

When I open my subscriber database (or even the ACT2014 demo db) in ACT I get the following 2 ACT notifications:

"The type initializer for 'Act.Google.Sync.Common.GoogleServiceProvider' threw an exception."  OK

Then:

"Error occurred after logon in synchronisation manager: The type initializer for 'Act.Google.Sync.Common.GoogleServiceProvider' threw an exception."  OK

Any ideas as to why I am getting these errors?

*  I have not set up Google Integration on the publisher database.

*  I can't get into Tools > Integrate with Google > Google Integration Preferences either.  It gives the same error as above.

Now I have realised that I can't open Calendar or Task List and am wondering it this is linked to the above problem.

This problem only seems to be happening on the Windows 7 Professional x64-bit laptop.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Act.Google.Sync.Common.GoogleServiceProvider error when opening ACT and unable to open Calendar/Task List

Thanks Mike.

I tried ID 28813 but got the error: "The module "adchronopher.ll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80020009."

ID 21550 mentioned re Act being installed on a 64-bit OS which it is in my case.  Windows 7 Professional SP1.

Re: Act.Google.Sync.Common.GoogleServiceProvider error when opening ACT and unable to open Calendar/Task List

Sorry I missed getting back to this ... If anyone else hits it, you should have the command prompt run as admin:
Click Start>All Programs>Accessories, then right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as Administrator”

I that still fails (it shouldn't), then try - For Windows Vista/Windows 7 users:
Click Start>All Programs>Accessories, then right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as Administrator”
Type in the following command exactly as you see it and press ENTER.
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose
Wait for the command to complete, it can take some time so please be patient.
Once the command has completed, try to register the dll file again.
