Act v18
Windows 10
Outlook 2013
Yesterday I was able to click on the email address in individual contacts in Act, and Outlook would open a new message window with the email address populated.
Now this morning when I do the same, Act! immediately crashes out. Doesn't matter whose email address I click on, Act! crashes. Outlook doesn't crash.
Help!

Hi Kevin,
Have you applied Hotfix 5?

Hi Jeff,
According to Act!, my software is completely up to date - went through "Act Notifications" in the Help tab to get Hotfix 5 and it told me that "You already have the latest version of Act!"

Have you tried rebooting?

Did that too. Still crashes when I try to start an email from Act.

Have you tried deleting your temporary files?

Temporary files...as in, in my browser?

UPDATE:
When I select "Run as Administrator" for both Outlook and Act!, clicking on email addresses in Act! brings up the Outlook window with no problem.
However, when I try to send an email template, or attempt a mail merge, either of two results occurs:
1. The merge progress bar comes up, but disappears without doing anything; or
2. The merge starts - shows "processing 1 of 1" - and then Act! crashes again.

Windows temporary files. There is a cleanup tool in Windows that will get rid of temporary files. I use CCleaner. There is a free version of CCleaner that you can download and use.

I note that at the top of this blog you were asked if you had applied Hotfix 5 and you answered that ACT said you had an up to date version.
ACT generally only checks Service Patch releases and not Hot Fixes. You have to download Hotfixes manually, link below.
