Act! 2012 Premium - Sync Issue - Incorrect syntax near 's'

We recently upgraded from a single user Act!2009 - to Act!2012 Premium into a two user config (both notebooks with Windows 7), with a third desktop PC (running Windows XP) acting as a sync server which holds the master database.

 

The two notebook PC users were able to perform a successful sync with the master the first 2 to 3 times. Then, both users encountered the following sync error:

We were advised this is related to a "stack overflow" condition. But, so far have not received a fix. So - wanted to post in the community for any feedback/assistance which is greatly appreciated.

 

Note - this is a large database (4800 contacts) with lot's of attachments over the last several years. The RDB file is around 10 Gig. The master was able to cut the remotes successfully, and installed on the two notebook PC's as well. Again, the first 2 or 3 syncs were OK - then the failure occurred. Cut "new" remotes, and problem repeated.

I have now had 4 reported sync failures after clients have upgraded form ACT 2010 and 2011 to 2012. The sync network client was also upgraded at the same time. In all instances the first sync has reported that it need to sync database modification changes and lock the database even though no server changes had been made. It then failed at the end of the second bar of the sync - Database Modifications -.

 

This is a worrying common failure and I wonder if others have seen the same problem or are aware of a fix.

I had the exact same issue, support ended up giving me a batch
file to run on the server (master database) that didn’t work but when I ran the
same batch file on the client it fixed the issue. If you need the file feel
free to contact me. It was nice to get a resolution for once.

Yesterday our local Act! specialist provided a batch file as well. We installed it on the remote (not the master), and for one machine it worked. It failed on the other remote, but they are still working on that one.
