Re: Act 16 Crashing When Using Document Tab on a Windows 7 Computer

If you go back to my post from 2 weeks ago you will see a step by step instruction on how to get rid of 4.6.1 and reinstall 4.5.2.  Try that.

If it isn't in Add / Remove programs then it is a Windows Feature on the left side of the Add / Remove Programs window.  Remove it there and then install the .NET 4.5.2 version.  You can download the full installer for .NET 4.5.2 from the following link.

Re: Act 16 Crashing When Using Document Tab on a Windows 7 Computer

ACT V16 has now become incompatible with windows 7 as it will crash. This is not an acceptable situation.

Unless a fix is being produced can I suggest you update the knowledge bases and product compatibility pages stating that ACT V16 is no longer compatible with a standard installation of Windows 7 as this is now a fact.

Thanks for the feedback ch1p, I've asked for the compatibility matrix article to be updated.
I don't have any solid info on an official update to fix the issue for v16.

Re: Act 16 Crashing When Using Document Tab on a Windows 7 Computer

There may be some light at the end of the tunnel as MS is being blasted by a number of software product makers over .NET 4.6

Anyone with MS accreditation who can also complain to MS about the non-backwards compatibility of the .NET release would be most helpful.

Some links about what people are saying -

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/27/critical_bug_in_net_46/

And here MS say it is backward compatible but its not -

Please complain to MS as loud, but nicely, as you can.
