Act 10, hanging on search for contacts

When searching by contact last name, Act hangs, and eventually crashes, throwing out the following event code:

Was there ever a solution for this?

I have someone experiencing approx 6 to 7 times a day

Have reinstalled Act already but that did not clear up the issue

Have you tested this with a different database (ex: ACT! Demo)?  To see if it is specific to your database.

If this is specific to your database, try running Tools > Database Maintenance > Check and Repair.

This manifests itself in multiple offices with different databases in each.

Could it be network issues?

There was an issue with ACT! 2010 giving script errors with IE8 when doing a Lookup, but the error indicates you are running ACT! 2007 (v9).  You can test to see if it is a network issue by opening the database through a web browser on the server.  Use the address 'localhost' instead of your URL/IP Address (ex: http:\\localhost\apfw).

 

What is the version of the browser you are using to access the database(s), under Help > About IE?
