Accessing some contacts on ACT 2014 for Web crashed IE

We are talking to support about this issue but I wondered if anyone else was experiencing this issue and whether they could replicate it.

 

We have a single server install with Server 2012 Essentials and ACT 2014.18,000 contacts and 1.6GB DB. HyperV instance.

 

Problem:

When user uses IE to access a contact that is unique the browser crashes. also happens on Demo DB

 

Test to recreate issue:

Access contact that has multiple versions

i.e. john smith

 

then access account that has only one version in your DB which automatically goes into contact details view

 

on our system this causes IE to crash.

 

Workaround for us:

We are using the universal search which brings up the contact in the results view and this allows people to continue. Support are referring issue to developers. Event log shows some data on server on each IE crash.

 

Anybody else having similar behaviour to this on their systems?

There is a reported problem with required fields when using ACT for WEB. It is supposed to have been fixed but have still seen problems where database was started as 2012. Try removing all required fields if you have any.
