Just replaced our PC's. We currently have 3 PC's(Windows 7Pro) with one acting as the host of the ACT!2010 and the other two as workstations that access the database.
When I go to open Act! on the workstations I can see the .pad file currently through the network, but when I click on it to open the database nothing happens and then the standard error about a network problem and/or a firewall issue. I believe there is a simple solution, but it has been a while since I have had the issue.
I do not believe it is a firewall issue or network issue as I can get to the pad file without issue.

Hello, I regularly copy the PAD file on the desktop of every user computer.
The problem may be that the computer user does not see the server or need Server Administrator permissions.
To give you an idea look the following images.
At this point you are going to Know if the problem is that you do not see the server or if you need user and password - suggest you leave permanent server administrator credentials.

1. The workstation can see the host and the .pad file on the host. But when you click on it....it does not open the database. Basically it spins/freezes for about 10seconds and then says there is a problem with finding database.
2. I have copied the .pad file onto the workstation desktop and it does not access the file either.

Try running ACT! on the worstation as the administrator (right-click on the ACT! icon and choose Run as Administrator). If that works the problem is the firewall of the UAC.
