Hello,
We are running Act! Premium Version 18.2.53.0, Update 7. On several Windows 10 PCs the user sometimes runs across an error when starting the program. It displays this message "Access to the path is denied" even before the login dialogue box appears. Clicking OK just closes ACT.
I've found that running ACT onetime at an administrator level resolves it but I would like to know if there is anything I can do to prevent this. Give access to a specific file folder on the PC?
Thank you!

It definitely looks like a permission issue.

Hi GIlles!
Would you happen to know the path? We're OK opening up that directory to everyone.

I assume it would be the path to your PAD file.

We have ACT on a shared network folder. "Everyone" has full access rights to this folder. And it's only happening to Windows 10 users, not the remaining Windows 7 PC's we have running in the office.

Hi
this error is related to a Microsoft update,
just run Act once as Administrator, that should fix the problem

I just had this same issue. Is there any update? Will this be fixed in a future Act patch?

You may find a simple fix (IF not already done) is to have the PAD file on the local machine and point ACT to that to start it.

Hi
It is not possible, we have a Citrix Environment and the Users starting ACT! over Citrix. The Pad file is stored on the Backend Server and all Users have full Access of this Directory
