Ability to see detailed contact history; field changes over time?

Hey folks,

 

Currently running Act by Sage Premium 2013.

 

I swear there used to be a way of looking at detailed contact history; specifically, changes to indinvidual fields over time.

 

For example, if a phone number is changed by someone (accidentally?), you could look in the field history and see that it had changed on such and such a date from 123-456-7890 to 098-765-4321...or something.

 

Am I on drugs and just dreaming of that kind of detailed database field history available? I cannot find it anywhere in my installation(s).

 

I would think it would be a trivial thing to record such data as text in the DB, although I imagine it could get rather detailed and large...

 

I would appreciate any advice on this...even if it is to tell me I'm nuts and I should stop dreaming...

You can set up individual fields to record history when changed through the Tools > Define Fields > double click desired field > enable 'Generate History' option > click Finish. Repeat for all desired fields.

You can set up individual fields to record history when changed through the Tools > Define Fields > double click desired field > enable 'Generate History' option > click Finish. Repeat for all desired fields.

OK, I must have had that selected for these fields at one point...good to know!

 

Is it possible an upgrade from Premium 2010 to Premium 2013 (which is what we did) altered this?

I haven't heard of an upgrade changing the selections...

Make sure your history is not filtering out the display of those items.
