Re: ACT! users can not create databases on their computers?

If the user has a remote database, they will need SQL Server installed and running. With SQL Server installed, there isn't a way to limit access for creating a new database.

The 'new database' functionality is not tied to a user's access within a database. To better see this, click File > Close (to close the database but not the program), you will see that New Database is available as an option.

Juan,
I believe the only way to do this with ACT! is by removing the SQL Server. This should not be an issue is they are using a shared database. See this KB article for more info:

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

Install ACT without SQL on the workstations, or stop the ACT7sql service within services.msc

OK, Thanks for the prompt reply.

(It's good to have in ACT! 2014 the ability to manage this function ...  to create or not  local databases on the computers of users)
