ACT stopped working and outlook now hangs

ACT stopped working and outlook now hangs

The day after my initial install of act 2011 premium, outlook stopped working (saying the database is locked) and I can no longer get into act.  I get "The databse actdb could not be accessed" as follows.  any ideas? I'm still on the trial so I gather I have not tech support.

This sounds like your 'SQL Server (ACT7)' service has been stopped.  Here is an article with instructions for checking/starting the service, along with other steps that may help resolve the issue: KB Article 19640

 

See the step titled: The SQL Server Browser and/or SQL Server (ACT7) services are not started or is disabled
