ACT icons missing in Outlook 2007

I've asked this before, but received no response.  I need help getting the ACT! icons to appear in Outlook, I am having problems only on one machine.  It works correctly on all the other computers.

The tab & icons are missing from Outlook 2007, the address book is added. I went through the steps on Answer ID 14261 & 14167. Everything appears they way these articles state, I've also uninstalled & reinstalled ACT. HELP! What else can I try!

Using, ACT! by Sage Premium 2008 (10.0) (ST Edition) Version 10.0.2.191, Office 2007, Win XP

Thanks, Barb

Amongst all the things I know, what I don't know is how to look up those referenced articles to sse what you've already tried, so please be patient with me...

Using Outlook 2007 helps simplify things a bit at least.

First, make sure that the Address Book is properly configured.

Open Outlook 2007.

Press Sift-Ctrl-B.   In the Address Book dialog that appears, drop down the list of Address Books.  If the ACT! Address book is shown, the problem is "something" with the Addin.  If the address book is not shown, you need to configure it.

Configure the ACT! Address book:

1)  Quit Outlook

2)  Run ACT!

3)  Tool | Preferences - Email tab - Email System Setup.

Click the Outlook checkbox, and when the Address Book page appears, click the Add button and add a database (the system defaults the information to the database you currently have opened.)

Once the Address Book is working, the Add-in can work.

If the Add-In is still not working, check the following registry value:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\ACTOutlookAddIn.Connect

  LoadBehavior

This value should be 3.

If it is 2, change it to 3 and start Outlook.

The add-in should load.

If this doesn't correct your problem, you'll likely notice that the value of LoadBehavior changes from 3 to 2.

If this happens, post the info back here.

Good luck.

Re: ACT icons missing in Outlook 2007

I see the ACT! address book from the menu: Tools, Account Settings, Address Book, but when I press Sift-Ctrl-B, it is not listed.

The LoadBehavior value is 3.

The artiles I am referencing are found on Sage's Knolwedgebase.

Thanks for your help.

Re: ACT icons missing in Outlook 2007

FYI, I'm pretty sure the LoadBehavior issue was Office 2003 only as Microsoft corrected it in Office 2003 SP3

Re: ACT icons missing in Outlook 2007

Thanks.  Is there anything else I can try?  Outlook acknowledges that the ACT address book is there - but the tab and icons do not show.  This user is very frustrated that it is not working, he has been copying and pasting each email into an activity so he has a record - this is such a waste of time.

HELP!

Re: ACT icons missing in Outlook 2007

I ended up uninstalling ACT and Office 2007, then reinstalled them both.  I have not had any issues since.

I hope this works for you - I understand how frustrating it is.

Good Luck
