Hi! my ACT scheduler encountered an error with a file. below is the details of the error.
Result: Task Not Completed
Errors: Failed to log into the database. The parent's full name is too long for item : \Share\REL-6D75562P4EY\RelianceHealthSvc-database files\Attachments\benefit offer-102620090343-shamona bokelman f9ab9e4f-8460-4932-9871-d2e81a986ab5 15f0a8d0-0d17-49cd-a4ac-6a90fed01711 bcc0405d-fcf6-416f-a3e9-18ca4bc898c1 571f56cd-39d3-4b65-980b-77a131376977.wpa

im new to ACT scheduler and ACT. How can i resolve this? can I just rename the file? if i do, can i still access this file from the ACT??

Please note that the Act scheduler is just an automation for the backup procedure which is also available through the FILE menu within the program.
Looking at the natue of the errormessage you might have an attachement with name that is indeed to long for the ZIP routine to compress.
Changing the filename could be an option.
There more then one way to deal with an attachment.
You could first find the attachment in your attachment folder to secure the contents of the file by copying it to for example your desktop.
Then find the attachment at your act record under history or documents (it shows up under history if you have attached it while printing/editing or it will show p at the document tab if you have attached the file manually).
Then delete the history item or document tab item.
Now act has 'forgotten' the existance of the file.
In order for you to attach the 'new' file, take the file from your desktop and attach it (while using a shorter filename of course ;-)

i thought its as simple as renaming and deletin the file. but as im trying to do it, i cannot copy nor delete the file from the folder it's located. i was hoping that i could just delete the file from the ACT itself. But i cannot find the attachment from the history nor the document tab. i dont have any records in the system that could possibly contain this attachment.
help again pls. how can i delete this attachment? also, how can i open the file from the folder??

Please look at this KB article. While it may not point directly towards your problem, it shows you how to determine the place where the attachements are stored.
For attaching a document to a contact again (in order not to 'lose' the document) see this article.
