ACT! Scheduler Is Unavailable

Just upgraded to ACT 2009 EX on a new machine. I have called support and they installed and reinstalled ACT, still same issue. This is the exact error "Act! Scheduler service is unavailable. Please install the service to run scheduler." My question is basically this, can I install just the Scheduler service as apposed to another reinstall?

Re: ACT! Scheduler Is Unavailable

When you do, I recommend doing the install in Selective Startup mode as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article - http://tinyurl.com/6n9599 - and with UAC off.

This will ensure the most reliable install

Re: ACT! Scheduler Is Unavailable

Where do you get this error?

Can you see the ACT! Scheduler service in services.msc?

What operating system?

OS = Windows Vista Ultimate
Just looked at the Services.MSC and no the service was not installed. Is there a way to just install this service from the ACT 2009 CD?

Re: ACT! Scheduler Is Unavailable

I'm guessing it might not have been installed because you had Vista UAC turned on

You might turn it off as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article - http://tinyurl.com/5wz8ge. Then reinstall.

Re: ACT! Scheduler Is Unavailable

UAC was turned off on my account. ACT logged into my machine via. www.act.com/blc and re-installed the software. Due to since I bought the new software via. Internet they sent me a link for the download. I downloaded it, installed, then called ACT Support. At that time the tech uninstalled ACT 2009, and re-installed from same downloaded installation. Tech said I need the CD.

They think it was a dmaged download? Maybe they (or one of the admins here) might give you a new download location?

Or are they sending you the CD?

Re: ACT! Scheduler Is Unavailable

Yes the tech basically gave me the solution as to wait for the CD to come in. I now how the CD and have not attempted the uninstall/ re-install on this machine. Very weird solution that tech gave me, at least I think it is.

On the CD/Download installation, is there a .exe or .msi for just the Scheduler?
