ACT REader error - "Login failed for user 'ACTREADER' "

I'm trying to set up an ODBC connection. I'm able to use the ACT Reader utility to set the password, but when I try to complete the ODBC set up I get the following  error:

Connection failed:

SQLState:'2800'

SQL Server Error:18456

[Microsoft]SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SL Server]Lgin failed for user 'ACTREADER'.

I'm running Windows 7 and the version appears to be SQL Server 2008 R2. Our version is Act Premium2010

Any suggestions?

I ran Act REader on the machine where the db resides and all is working.

I'm using ODBC because MS Access 2007 only uses ODBC as far as I know.

Some further information. It seems that the password will work with the database situated on my local machine but not the database situated on another server.

I'm going to try to run ACT Reader on the other machine.

ACT reader is the ODBC connection to ACT. Have you tried the OLEDB Connections? You will see two ACT reporting tools there.

If you're trying to use ACT reader on the other machine, you will need to set up a data source to yoru host machine first.

Just curious why ODBC?  it's a lot more complicated.
