ACT! Premium

Hi,

If we are using ACT! Premium (NOT Cloud based) then would there be a local copy of ACT! on each sales persons laptop?

Re: ACT! Premium

That's certainly one way of setting up Act!

Commonly you will install the software on each users PC - and the database will be hosted on one 'server' PC, then all users simply access the database through the software on their own device.

Re: ACT! Premium

Thank you for that, we currently have it in the cloud but are looking at the pro's ands con's of a server based version.

So would the actual data be held on the local machines or just the database itself?

If they were out and about and without a internet connection for whatever reason could they access the data or do they need to be connected?

Thank you

Andrew,

A local offline database can be held on synchronising local machines, updating to the hosted main database is initiated from the local machines on a scheduled basis, either automatic or manual selection or both when internet connection is available. That does not preclude users also accessing the Act! main database on the hosting server via browser, (Act! Premium Cloud).
