ACT Locking Up

Hello,

We are on ACT 2013 on the web, after a few hours of use the process will peak and we will have to kill it and restart ACT on the server for the users to be able to use the program. I do have the Error Log and was hoping that I would be able to get some help making heads or tails of it.

Regards

Re: ACT Locking Up

To verify: when the issue occurs, it affects all users at the same time - is that correct?

- Is there a particular task/function that appears to be performed when the system hangs?

- Is there a particular repetitive task that the users are performing?

Have you watched the processes prior to the hang, to determine the CPU/Memory/GDI Object usages? Is there a common point at which it fails?

Re: ACT Locking Up

[ Edited ]

Yes, it is affecting all users at once.

-There doesn't seem to be anything specific the users are doing. Just the normal searching for contacts or adding contacts if necessary or making notes.

- Searching the database for contacts and sending emails would be the only repetative tasks.

The only common point that it fails would be after a couple hours of use. I would say approximatley 3 hours. It is always the w3wp.exe process. I found an article this morning about clearing out the HistoryQueue, so that I will see how that goes.

Re: ACT Locking Up

Is it regular contact lookups in ACT for Web, or is it ACT Premium Mobile?

It's important to know the difference because each use different services for searching.

Also is the database and the Internet facing application server the same computer, or are they configured on two different boxes?

Re: ACT Locking Up

Hi

Did you ever get this resolved. I am now experiencing the same issue. To clarify on the above the system locks up using IE on a local machine not Mobile. Also the database is on the same box as the webserver.

Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1

8GB RAM- 5GB In Use

64-Bit - IIS running in 32-bit

Re: ACT Locking Up

I get the same errors with 2013 for web. I have yet to get either 2012 or 2013 web version to work correctly. It freezes on my people and drives me crazy. Could they please realease a version that actually works correctly or at least fix it before they come out with new versions. Here what I get for erros. I may get as many as 100 a day of these.

Re: ACT Locking Up

One of my clients has the same issue as this, it happens generally more often when two database are open on the same machine, different browsers (Firefox & Chrome), switching between notes view and user fields causes Act to log the user out and the (see below) error in the Events log.

A solution to this would be GREAT.
