ACT Import Issue Part 3

  1. 1.     This is an issue that comes out of nowhere
  2. 2.     It works and then at some point stops working
  3. 3.     I can import into a new database
  4. 4.     I was able to import once into a copy of my existing database
  5. 5.     Other act users are having the same issue
  6. 6.     It is not an Excel issue
  7. 7.     TXT, CSV and ACT to ACT imports don’t work either
  8. 8.     I’ve turned dupe checking on and off
  9. 9.     I’ve changed the type of dupe check

10. I’ve reset preferences

11. Version: Sage ACT! Premium 2013 Version 15.1.108.0, Hot Fix 3

Re: ACT Import Issue Part 3

I've found that Oak!Merge (http://www.oakmerge.com/) has given me consistent import reliability. Using the builtin import routine works most times, but when it falls over, I take one shot at fixing it, then revert to Oak!Merge. Lifes too short to waste time.

Re: ACT Import Issue Part 3

Community: Update 5-16-2013: About a week ago I created a copy of my database (save Copy As) and have imported Excel files on 3 separate occasions.

What has happened in the past is that this somehow breaks and all of the sudden won't work.
