ACT E-mail Setup can never complete

Back again, with more Act Premium woes.

Client's version: Act! Premium Version

Problem: When user clicks on someone's E-mail, it pops up a message saying E-mail isn't setup instead of opening in system default Mail Client.

Problem: When going through E-mail setup, Thunderbird integration is not an option.

Problem: When attempting to setup regular "internet mail" in Act, there are no fields for port or SSL settings.  Clicking test account without setting these up causes a clean crash to desktop.  Following error found in Windows Event Viewer.

Act! v20 will only integrate with:-

Microsoft® Office 2016 and 2013
Microsoft® Exchange and Office 365 for contact and calendar synchronization
Internet Mail SMTP/POP3  (SSL Secured Mail Services are not supported.)

Re: ACT E-mail Setup can never complete

There's no way to make ACT just launch the system default mail client when you click an E-mail address, then?

Local install Act! will not connect with Thunderbird.

Second, Internet Mail cannot be configured to use a specific server port other than the default Outgoing Server Port 25 (SMTP) and Incoming Server Port 110 (POP3). If your email provider requires the use of ports other than these default ports, Act! E-mail will be unable to connect to the Internet Mail account. Additionally, if your e-mail service provider does not allow you to use open relay e-mail accounts, you cannot use Act! E-mail with that specified Internet account (for example, Gmail will not work).

Re: ACT E-mail Setup can never complete

qmail, E-MailRelay or hMailServer would help.

I posted a blog post "Sending email in a world of tighter security" to describe these in greater detail.
