ACT Database consolidation

Right now we have two seperate databses.

1 is for CLIENTS

the other is for VENDORS

Is that stupid? should I just have 1 database for the company? How would I go about consolidating them? I don't want my salespeople to see the vendors.

Any ideas?

Re: ACT Database consolidation

Much better to combine into one database... if you have the Premium version, you can set up Teams and allocate Limited Access security so that users can;t see those records that you don't want them to

Thank you.

Those are really outdated instructions, haha.

Re: ACT Database consolidation

I might end up keeping them separate as  some of our clients are also our vendors. (we buy and sell to them). That might not be good to combine them. Might confuse people.

Re: ACT Database consolidation

It's very rare that separate database is a good idea ... how would you know if you're busy before scheduling an activity?

we don't use the activities function. we don't meet with many clients or schedule appointments. Simple wholeseller operation. Vendors and Clients.
