ACT API error with Insight

ACT V20 on Windows 2008 R2

 

ACT for WEB installation and all working including ACT for WEB access but Insight not working and message on server when Insight is clicked is -

 

The ACT API was unable to authenticate the login credentials for this database.

We've recently put together a KB on the most common Insight/API issues - so I'd definitely recommend taking a look here:

Hi,

 

Let's start with seeing is the Act! Web API Host is running.  This is the service that used for Insight.
Click on the Windows icon in the Task Bar, then type Services.exe. Click the result to run.

Check if Act! API Host is running:  Try a restart...

Thanks for the reply. Will have access to the server sometime next week and will check this out.

 

Is there a white paper on the ACT API and associated service?

Not had site access yet again but see others have also reported the same API problem when upgrading from V19 to 20
