I know this issue has been "resolved" in several other threads, however, on one of the 3 workstations running ACT 2012 Premium in the office, I keep getting the error "The SQL Database Command timed out". I have tried all of the "fixes" but am running into the same error. The other two workstations connect just fine.
I have tried adding all of the programs and ports in the KB to the windows firewall exclusions.
I have tried completely disabling the windows firewall.
I have run the diagnostics and gone through the steps listed in other threads.
ACT SQL Server service is started.
I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling ACT, and yet the problem continues to persist.
I'm about to toss ACT through a wall. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there
What is the windows OS on the machine you're having the issue with? And is it running a different version of windows to the other computers?
I assume its a shared database you're trying to access? What is the OS of the machine you're ACT database is hosted on?

I feel like I should mention that even when i detach all databases and launch ACT! it gives me the error message. When I try to open the Demo it gives the same error message.

Usually this error relates to permission settings on the folder containing the ACT database or to do with the firewall blocking access.
The demo database you are trying to open is located on the machine locally, not on your network?

That is correct.
