ACT 2012 Install Issue involving IE

- Sage ACT! Premium 2012 Version 14.1.108.0

- Issue involves Internet Explorer

- Shared Database

- Attempting to install on Windows 7

During my attempt to install ACT on a Windows 7 machine, I am told to install IE7 or higher. However, the machine already has IE9. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a solution?

ACT! 2012 was released prior to IE9 so what is being referred to is IE7 or 8. See if IE9 has a compatibility mode. If so see if that helps.

Re: ACT 2012 Install Issue involving IE

Interesting.  Normally during installs the scriptable install system (whatever install system is being used by the setup.exe) checks a series of registry keys for locations of installed programs.  I have installed 2012 on windows 7 ultimate with IE9 update with no issues, quite a few times.  Question ... Do you have all of windows 7 updates and service packs installed?  You mention IE9 so I would assume that you do, however I also know that can be a separate install.  My guess is, IE9 install went bad and didn't change the registry key string to reflect the"upgrade" (I hate using that word, "upgrade" and IE in the same sentence, LOL).

Looks like rolling back to IE8 bypassed the issue. Thanks!
