ACT 2010 Premium not recognising Outlook 2007

Version 12.1.181.0 Hot Fix 5

Hi all. I've been trying to get ACT to recognize Outlook 2007.

On a profile with local administrator rights I installed Outlook before ACT. I installed the ACT setup files then Hotfix 1 & Hotfix 5, rebooting between each install. When I open ACT to set preferences there isn't an email option. I have tried the fixes in the knowledgebase but they haven't worked.

Any advice?

Manually installed Office updates. Installed ACT and it recognised Outlook. Happy.

Re: ACT 2010 Premium not recognising Outlook 2007

Do you have any email systems listed (eg Internet Mail)?

If you have nothing, try this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

If you have others, but not Outlook, recheck as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

Hi Mike, we install ACT from a file on the server. Our desktops update at 3am so I thinking that Windows updates should be installed before installing ACT.

Not sure what's that in reference to?
You didn't say which of the two possibles above is the one you have?

You should run updates before and after ACT! install ... ACT! installs some components that usually need updating

The email option is totally blank. I installed Outlook and ACT today. Though updates won't run till 3am tonight. Not having critical updates before installing ACT is probably th issue.

Don't open a database before stepping thur the Setup Assistant or meet your inevitable DOOM. Outlook will not recognise.
