ACT 2009 and Excel From Office Starter

I have a customer who has the Office Starter suite that has Excel but no Outlook.

  • He said that the Excel export button is grayed out.
  • He also confirmed that Office Starter was installed before ACT.
  • The version of Excel is 2010 (32-bit)
  •  He is logged in as administrator
  •  Export to Excel under manage users is neither under available or added permissions

Can we assume that Excel 2010 can not be read by ACT 2009 (11.1.183.0.561)?

Re: ACT 2009 and Excel From Office Starter

Hello John,
Yes, that is correct. ACT! 2009 will not integrate with any of the Office 2010 applications. In addition, I don't believe that the starter versions of the Office 2010 apps have all the necessary components to integrate with the current versions of ACT! either.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
