ACT! 2009 Premium not seeing SQL on Win 2008 64 bit server

I'm having trouble with an ACT! 2009 Premium installation on our new server. It is running Windows Server 2008 Standard (non-R2) 64 bit. I installed SQL Server 2005 from the ACT! CD2 which installed fine and created the ACT7 instance. I was also able to update it to SP3. However, now trying to install ACT CD1 it does not seem to recognize that SQL 2005 Standard is installed. It asks if I want to use SQL 2005 Standard or Express and tells me to install Standard from the second CD, even though I have already done so.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?

Did you ever get this to work? I am stuck in the same spot, right now. I tried the manual SQL install still not recognizing.

Thanks,

What error message do you get?

You might check that SQL and the ACT7 instance are setup correctly as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -
