ACT! 2008 and ArcGIS software

Will these two products run happily on the same workstation?  ACT!! is a resource-intensive program and from my understanding, ArcGIS is as well.  Thanks, Brenda Dixon

Re: ACT! 2008 and ArcGIS software

Hi Brenda:

I have been running both on my Inspiron 1720. Haven't seen any significant issues other than horrific experience upgrading from Act! 4, with which I was very happy (but Act! 4 doesn't run on Vista, that I know of).

Still trying to get adjusted to Act! 10. Do you know how to access its tables from within ArcGIS? I have tried adding a Database Connection from within ArcCatalog, but can't get it to work.

Thanks,

Dennis

Re: ACT! 2008 and ArcGIS software

I have not had to do that.  If the ArcGIS software is SQL based, the new version of ACT! should allow that, if I am not mistaken or there are add-on products that will allow the one database to talk with the other.  Hope that helps, Brenda
