ACT! 2008 Premium: setting up OLE DB provider

[ Edited ]

I cannot get this to work. I get the same errors as everyone else and manually registering the DLLs and/or using the 901fix.cmd do not resolve my problem. I get: File or assembly name COleDbSecurity, or one of its dependencies, was not found.

The dll says it was successfully registered:

C:\>cd C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727>regasm "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act f

or Windows\COleDBSecurity.DLL" /codebase "C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows\C

OleDBSecurity.DLL"

Microsoft (R) .NET Framework Assembly Registration Utility 2.0.50727.3053

Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1998-2004.  All rights reserved.

Types registered successfully

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727>

Im running win2k3 server standard with sp2, and Excel 2003 with ACT! by Sage Premium 2008 (10.0) (ST Edition) Version 10.0.2.191

Any luck appreciated. It doesnt seem fair Id have to pay $500 for the Reader/sa password utility.

Perfect! Thank you! I couldnt find that doc yesterday. I applied all M$ updates to Excel 2003, then tried again, and I was successful in creating the ODC file.
