ACT 2007 - Imports failing from Outlook and CSV files

I've tried many things, but I can't seem to get ACT to import more than about 150 contacts.  When I try to import directly from Outlook, I get exactly 7 contacts imported (same ones every time).  I've tried spitting out a CSV file and trying that, and if I resort it, I can get about 150 before it aborts again.  The IMPORT_EXPORT.xml file doesn't tell me anything about the abort, only that a bunch of contact were successfully imported.  I've tried the Detect and Repair option for Outlook, to no avail.

 

I'm new to evaluating 2007 (we bought it a while ago and I'm finally getting around to working with it).  I'd be happy to upgrade to 2009, but not if I can't get the first task completed!

Have a look at this KB article and be carrefull about duplicate checking
