This happened on a previous version too. This also only appears to happen when Outlook i set to sync calendars with the Act calendar. My client reports at random when his entering data in a field in act that act will "blip" and everything he typed disappeared. This started reoccurring after i upgraded his act and re-enabled the sync with Outlook. I had the sync disabled previously as a work around to this issue.

This has happened to me too.
When entering data into a record without having saved it and AEM refreshes itself the data is lost as the screen refreshes.
It begs the question - Why is AEM auto-refreshing every few minutes?

In answer to your queries:
Were are you seeing AEM refresh periodically? In Act, or in a browser? - In Act!
Where are you entering record data while also seeing AEM refresh? - In a Contact Record.
Are you also running v17 premium? - Yes.
Is this a known situation?

When you are typing in a contact record and screen refreshes, what are you seeing as the screen refreshes? i.e. flash to white, loading circle, error message etc? - Yes
Where are you typing when this occurs? i.e. any fields in the contact record upper section, a particular tab below etc? - Anywhere - sometimes it displays the AEM "Accessing Account" message.
How do you know that AEM is refreshing and causing this issue? - The above message sometimes shows.

We haven't seen this particular behaviour before I'm afraid.
I would suggest calling in and speaking to one of our technicians to look into this further, and observe it happening first hand.
