ACT 10 Premium Using HTTPS Internet Sync Problem

Hi everyone,

 

Did anyone can suceess to setup a internet sync with a server through SSL (https) channels ?

 
The case and the environment is as below, hope someone can help me.
 
                                https                                           direct point to    
ACT User             ------------------->  ISA Proxy Server  ------------------------------> ACT Server (ACT Premium for Web)
(Remote Database)   Internet       (SSL https:\\xxx.xxx.com)
 
 
Our company is setup a test enviornment of ACT 10 (ACT 10 for web and Internet Sync)
In the test there is a problem for the ACT Internet Sync.
 
Firstly, the ACT Server is place behind the ISA Proxy Server (with SSL).
ACT for web and ACT Internet Sync must use (https://) to reach the ACT Server.
 
Test  
ACT Server  - installed ACT Premium for Web
Client Machine - installed ACT Premium for workgroup
 
Test 1 - ACT for Web (Success)
 
We can use https://xxx.xxx.com/apfw (the domain name of the ISA Server) login the database and is work properly.
 
Test 2 - ACT Internet Sync (Unsuccess)
 
Server - all the syncconfigfile.xml (DB name and Machine Name) is set properly,
and see the content inside.
 
Connecting Type (Network Outside Firewall)
Client machine -> In the Sync Server Connection, URL type in https://xxx.xxx.com/actinternetsync - Finish
Start to Sync -> .....wait for a long time, the software stopped. After we re-start and check the Sync Server Connect again,
the URL chanage to http://xxx.xxx.com/actinternetsync (without S)
 
Then we try the Connection Type (Network Inside Firewall)
Client machine -> In the Sync Server Connection, Machine Name type in https://xxx.xxx.com/actinternetsync Port : 443 - Finish
Start to Sync -> .....wait for a long time, the software stopped. After we re-start and check the Sync Server Connect again,
the machine name is remain at https://xxx.xxx.com/actinternetsync
 
In the period of the test, we monitor the logging of the ISA Server.
We find that ACT for Web (using IE) can pass the ISA server  to the ACT Server successfully.
But when use ACT Internet Sync, the ISA Server block the internet sync request.
(Is it ACT10 cannot do Internet Sync under SSL ???)

do you have a static ipaddress

then  you can use the network sync using internet

this works all the time

As far as I know, you cannot use the Internet Sync through SSL, it has to be port 80. But if someone has got it working through HTTPS, i'd love to know how.

 

Otherwise you can follow the information in the above post as an alternative. The sync data in Act is automatically encrypted.
