2 Contacts w/ 1 Email Address Help!

In ACt, we have 2 contacts sharing the same email address (different first and last names-). When an email is sent, or an  incoming email arrives, the message shows on both contacts' history. If I delete a history (email message, document, etc), it's removed from both contacts history.

Is there something I can do to keep 2 differet distinct contacts who share the same email address? Thank you!

Your only option would be to delete the extra history. ACT is going to match on email address and attach to every contact record where there is a match.

How about using a period in the middle of one of the contacts email addresses?! Gmail would interpret this as the same address, but ACT would be none the wiser.

For example:
actjudy@sage.com and ac.tjudy@sage.com should deliver to the same address.

P.S. The + can also be used (. or +) at least with Gmail

Instead of deleting the history, open it, and remove the contact leaving only the contact where you want to keep the history.

delbcj,
actjudy@sage.com and ac.tjudy@sage.com should not deliver to the same address ... both are correct addresses

The period in the email address is only ignored in gmail
