I am new to Act! and I've got a question about setting up development environment to work with Act API.
My Client uses an on-premise version of Act. I was asked to integrate Act with another system, and I want to get a local intance of Act deployed where I can develop and test the integration. So the questions are:
1. How can I get the installation package? Should I request it from Client or I can register for a free trial on the website and download it myself? If I get the package from Client, will I need any licensing keys, account details, etc to be allowed to use the system?
2. Can I plug a copy of the existing database in to the locally deployed instance? There are a couple of custom fields in the Client's DB which I need to use.
3. Client currently does not use API. I undersand that they can download the API component on the website and deploy it in their network. Are there any additional licensing fees related to the use of API? Client uses Act Premium.
