"Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._Applicatio

We are getting this error  "Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._Application'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{00063001-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: Error loading type library/DLL. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80029C4A (TYPE_E_CANTLOADLIBRARY))."

This started to occur when loading Act Version Premium Version 18.0.501 on a Windows 10 64 bit machine with Office 2010 plus 32 bit.

I have read the article Answer 29499.  Neither situation applies.  We do not have click to run nor have we downgraded a version of Office or Outlook.

We are really stuck - we have multiple windows 10 computers now installed with fresh copies on new PC

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: "Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ApplicationClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._A

The issue was a different registry key than we had see

It was under

The registry key to be deleted is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{00020905-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\8.7

If you open it up, under 8.7 there will be a '0' key - and under that win32, and you should see that reference to Office 16.0.  If it's there, then delete the whole 8.7 key.  You can back it up by right clicking and choosing Export.
