Vista and Old DLLs

I just installed Act! 10.0.2.191 so I could write a plugin.

The Plugin works. Now I want to deploy it to my client.

When I copy my plugin to his computer the Custom menu does not show up.

After some research it appears that since my client is using an older release of version 10 my plugin should fail.

So my understanding is that I need to download his DLL files (is there any other place to download older release dll files?) and compile against those files and I should be good to go. That leads me to my second problem.....

Secondly, I am working in WinXP and he is in Vista. I can not for the life of me find his GAC so I can access his DLL files. Mine are located in a folder called c:\ACT!2008. His computer does not have this folder. In addition I can't find the Actlog.xml file.

Any thoughts anyone?

Daleedom,

You can find his version DLLs from his CD or from his Download in the ACTWG or ACTSTD folder under the folder GlobalAssemblyCache.

Rebuild your solution on your computer referencing these older Assemblies (the earliest version you’d like for the program to support) and it should work on his computer.

So the only way to get older DLLS is to find people who will give them to you?
