Shutdown ACT!

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone knows how to shutdown the ACT! program through code in visual basic? Thanks!

Re: Shutdown ACT!

Thanks for the reply, I was just thinking it mght be better to just log out of the current database instead of shutting down the program, Do you know the code for that?

Re: Shutdown ACT!

Ahhm, in the OP you said shutdown, hence my response.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Re: Shutdown ACT!

Yah sorry I decided to go with the logoff feature, however I try running it using the afterlogon event and it gives me errors, most likely because everything has not been loaded yet. Is there an event that runs after everything is loaded, where I can use the logoff code and not get errors?

Re: Shutdown ACT!

ViewLoaded would probably be the best entry point. Doing work prior to ViewLoaded can impact load times for the application.

Re: Shutdown ACT!

Matt,

Sounds to me like you're messing with someone putting code in to do a shutdown in the afterlogon routine :-).

Re: Shutdown ACT!

Hopefully the routine isn't being executed at that time, as ... not much could be accomplished in that scenario.

I was simply trying to point out the earliest and most ideal entry point, Matt had mentioned that he was attempting to use his routine in the AfterLogon(), so I made some assumptions based on that.

Re: Shutdown ACT!

Yah at first I was trying to shutdown ACT! entirely, which I changed my mind and decided I wanted ACT! to just logoff. Using the logoss function however in the afterlogon event gives errors as I am guessing not everything is loaded yet. So I switched to the viewloaded like Matthew mentioned.
