SELECT * From GROUP

SELECT * From GROUP

If you select ALL from the group table it fails.
SELECT *
FROM Nova.dbo."GROUP"

But if you list out the fields it works:

SELECT ACCESS_LEVEL, ADDRESS_1, ADDRESS_2, ADDRESS_3, CITY, COUNTRY, CREATE_DATE, EDIT_DATE, GROUP_DESCRIPTION, GROUP_NAME, GROUPID,
HAS_SUBGROUPS, HIERARCHY_LEVEL, IMPORT_DATE, IS_PRIVATE, LAST_EDITED_BY, PARENTGROUPID, PRIVATE, RECORD_CREATOR, RECORD_MANAGER,
STATE, SUBGROUPS, ZIP_CODE
FROM Nova.dbo."GROUP"

Is this an ANSI 92/99 issue?

Thanks

Re: SELECT * From GROUP

[ Edited ]

Can't be an ANSI issue, works in the demo for me

SELECT ACT2012Demo.dbo."GROUP".*
FROM ACT2012Demo.dbo."GROUP"

Does it throw the same timeout exception you were getting with activities? Does this fail in all databases?

I went back and did some more testing with a couple other databases I have for other issues, I did find one that has a similar issue, Queries against the group table fail when I query it by itself, however in my scenario it didn't matter if it was one field or all.

Error Source: ACT! OleDB Provider for Reporting 2.0

Error Message: Failed to parse SQL.

However, when I joined the GROUP_CONTACT and CONTACT table, the query worked regardless if I used fields from those tables or not. I'm looking into it and I'll respond to this thread when I know more.

Re: SELECT * From GROUP

Your reads "SELECT ACT2012Demo.dbo."GROUP".*

What if you try "Select *"

[ Edited ]

Our team was able to reproduce this and has found the fix for it.  Thanks Konstantin!

Unfortunately however at this time I do not have an approximate resolution date.

If anyone else is encountering this issue please reply to this thread.

Re: SELECT * From GROUP

I just encountered the same issue.  SELECT <any fields> from "GROUP" works, SELECT * from "GROUP" doesn't.  Is there any news about when the fix might be released?
