LogOn ERROR

Hallo ACT! Experts,

maybe somebody can help me with this?

I have tried to establish a direct connection to the ACT Database from an external program but keep getting the same Error message: „Error in the application“.

Here is the sourcecode I used so far:

namespace testACTverbForm

{

    public partial class Form1 : Form

    {

        public Form1()

        {

            InitializeComponent();

        }

        private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)

        {

            string eml = " ";

            eml = this.textBox1.Text;

            LogOnACT zAct = new LogOnACT();

            zAct.ActLogOn("SELECT [E-MAIL], [CONTACTID] FROM CONTACT WHERE [E-MAIL] = " + eml);

        }

    }

    public class LogOnACT

    {

        ActFramework ActFrm = new ActFramework();

        string xmlPADFile = "C:\\Users\\Admin\\Documents\\ACT\\ACT Data\\Databases\\DB_Test.pad";

        string userName = "user_name";

        string password = "pass";

        public void ActLogOn(String sql_befel)

        {

            try

            {

                ActFrm.LogOn(xmlPADFile, userName, password);  //  Error in the application

            }

            catch (System.Exception ex)

            {

                MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString());

                throw ex;

            }

 ...

When I try using this code from within a Plugin the logon functions properly though…

ActFrm.LogOn(xmlPADFile, userName, password);

Unfortunately the below mentioned article did not prove to be helpful.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Shouldn't this thread have an "Answered" tick against it?

Re: LogOn ERROR

Does this happen regardless of what database you try to connect to?

Re: LogOn ERROR

Thank you  Matthew, I wrote the code in VS 2010 with Framework 4.0, when copied to the Framework 3.5, it's worked.

Thanks again
