Intercepting the email field click event

Hi All,

We write the ACT! & Novell GroupWise integration called ActWise.

The challenge I am currently facing is intercepting the email field "click event" in the contact detail view to avoid the email setup wizard.  We already intercept it on the toolbar and menus but have never been able to satisfactorily achieve this on the email field itself.

We have tried all sorts of methods from FocusTriggers on Field Properties to super classing FieldDescriptorAttributes on the ContactFieldDescriptor, to intercepting the isSystemSetup() method on the UIEmailManager itself but to no success.

We currently have a hack which uses a custom control, but I really want to find out what that field click event invokes so we can capture it.  I wonder if any of the ACT! developers on here could provide an insight into what is going on.

Thanks

I have an idea that might work. Contact me offlist we'll discuss and then if valuable we'll go back on list for the benefit of others.
