Increasing number of additional fields for an opportunity in ACT v10

Hi All,

 

I have been tasked with updating an ACT v6 database to an ACT v10 structure.

 

I have a problem where I am able to transfer all of the data into the seperated table structure that ACT v10 defines: Contact, Companies Opportunities etc.

 

However I have a great deal of data related particularly to the Opportunity item.

 

ACT v10 is very resticted as far as I can tell because there are only 8 customisable fields available for an opportunity without the option to add your own (unlike Contacts and Companies)

 

I was wondering the reasoning behind this? - My assumption is that this is to do with GUI design as the Opportunity interface is locked down also.

 

Also is this a problem faced by version 11 of the software? We may have the option to upgrade to get round this issue.

Hi Rob,

 

ACT! 2010 (version 12), which is currently in Beta, allows you to add any number of fields to the Opportunity table. 

 

I'm not sure if there are add-on solutions which extend Opportunities in previous versions - perhaps someone else on the forums can help...
