Getting the Last Edit date when defining fields

Hi!

I'd like to know the last date and time the ACT! database fields were modified/edited using the "Define Fields" menu item under "Tools".

Is it possible to get this info in a Plugin?

Thanks!

You might be able to glean this from the SQL logs? I don't think the SDK could provide that level of info since what your looking for is really at the schema/dbms level?

Vivek is unfortunately correct. The information can be found in TBL_SYSCOLUMN, it's not an available view in the OLE provider either so the only solution is to get the data directly from SQL server.

Thanks for the answers. I'll look at the TBL_SYSCOLUMN table and dig out the info. Any pointers/minefields to look for?

Re: Getting the Last Edit date when defining fields

Since you're just reading, there aren't really any risks. TBL_SYSCOLUMN.EDIT_DATE has what you're looking for, though I'm not sure if this only applies to changes made on the layout editor or also changes made in define fields. Further, I'm not sure it'd consider it an edit, if it were only moved on the layout.
