Re: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' occurred in Act.Shared.LicProv

Are you familiar with FusLogvw.exe?  I would run that and turn on all binds to show failures.

Hold on, in your video you ARE running though the debugger - that is THE problem.  Try clicking on the exe in windows explorer and it will indeed work.  IF that is the case then it's no different than a plugin, it's a debugger being attached problem.  This is a developer issue (which we are aware of) but it does not affect customers use of apps or plugins.

Not really. Is Act! on the test machine licensed. On my machine it was installed above the old version of Act! and it has not been activated.

Billy managed to reproduce the error. When can he be contacted?

Whether you are running through the debugger or not, it crashes. If I double click on the .exe created. it still crashes. No difference.

This is the crash from it.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Re: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' occurred in Act.Shared.LicProv

Um, it's telling you the logon info is incorrect....

Act.Framework.InvalidLogonException: Log on information is incorrect.  Please fill in the correct User Name and Password

Double check the UN/Password, maybe create a new user and give it a password, it may have a problem with blank passwords?

If the logon is incorrect, it should NOT crash! It should provide an invalid login return.

Am I talking to the right person? It appears that I am just going in circles.

Brian, from the looks of it, you did not try the project that I sent you. Are you the right person for me to be dealing with?

I checked the Login/Passwords, and they are correct. This worked fine with Act! 20

Re: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' occurred in Act.Shared.LicProv

Yes I did try it did you not look at the screenshot???

It's successful for me and everyone else here.  Have you tried my test app, It's the same thing in C#????

Did you send me the correct package as it did not have any messageboxes so I had to add them....

Considering I've been working in c# and .net for 16 years, 8 in C++ and Assembler and have degree in Electrical and Computer science engineering (Cum Laude) I'm pretty sure I'm qualified....

Re: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' occurred in Act.Shared.LicProv

I'm at a loss. Quite a few developers on this forum stated that their stuff was crashing as well, including the developer from ActToday.

Why it is working at your site and not at all the other developers is obscure to me. I really do not know what to do.

Enlighten me and let's get this resolved. What .dll or license mechanism is left over from upgrading from Act! 20 to 21 that is causing this?

I'm dead in the water at the moment and can't develop or provide my customers with a working product so that they will upgrade to the new version of Act!.

Re: An unhandled exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' occurred in Act.Shared.LicProv

I sent you my number (Call Me), but I really don't think they are saying the same thing.  Like I said before, you cannot run in debugger or debug mode at this time, release versions will work, we have plugins and our own applications that have not changed or been rebuilt that work just fine.
