Accounting Integration

How do I get the Sage50 customer account number to show in ACt as a field that I can then search on?

I want to write a plugin to post appointments against companies using their Sage 50 account number.

Thsnks,

Re: Accounting Integration

Anybody know anything at all about this subject???

For a product that is supposed to have been owned by Sage until a couple of months ago, there doesnt seem to be much integration between the two products (Sage ERP and ACT)..

Alternatively, does anybody know anything about getting data out of Sage50 via Sdata?

Thanks

I have never used sData with Sage50 but they have a forum which may be helpful....

http://community.sage50accounting.com/t5/Sage-50-Software-Development-Kit/bd-p/PeachtreeSDK

Here is a thread regarding updating a field in act!.

http://community.act.com/t5/Act-Developer-s-Forum/Newbie-trying-to-update-a-Contact-field/m-p/80581/...

Once your data is updated in the act! DB it will be searchable. Here iis another thread...

Hope this helps

Re: Accounting Integration

Hi Jim,

thank you very much for that, but unfortunately I already know about inserting and updating standard and obvious data within ACT.

re the link to the SAGE forum, I cant do the work within the Sage arena because it needs the sage SDK and a good few years of practice to get things working.

No I just need to know about the standard off the tools menu function in ACT called Accounting Integration.

When a scheduled Sync between ACT and the 'Back Office' (or whatever ACT now calls it) has happened, WHERE is the data held.

I just cant find any reference to the Sage Account Reference anywhere within ACT.  However, ACT will display a screen with this data on it but I cant find it in the SDK or the raw tables anywhere.

Can you help me please?

regards,

Re: Accounting Integration

I have never come across any reference to Sage Accounting in the act! SDK.

It may be part of the Sage Accounting plugin. You would need to contact Sage for information about the plugin architecture and/or Sage SDK references.

Jim is correct, there's nothing in the ACT SDK that exposes anything to do with the Accounts integration.

We have integrated with several Sage Accounting products.

Sage 50 US [ http://datapluscrmsolutions.com/sage/sage50us ]

Sage 50 CA [ http://datapluscrmsolutions.com/sage/sage50ca ]

With this integration, you get the customer account number, and a wealth of information from the accounting program in ACT fields, and in an additional tab for data mining invoices, payments, jobs, credits etc. ACT! user does not have to have the accounting application installed locally.
