We have written some data importing and migration tools to get data into ACT. We have also noticed that these tools run very slowly on ACT 2012.
For example, I am trying to import 150,000 e-mails as history records and I suspect that the new universal search feature is consuming resources trying to index the new data. I also see slowdowns when attaching thousands of documents.
If this is the case, is there a recommended procedure for disabling the indexing service other than ending the process?
anybody else notice 2012 being real slow?

You could try stopping the services during the import and see if that affects how quickly the records import.
