I'm getting this to work with the WWX_BI_HistoryView_Full Table, but no joy with the VWXBI_OpportunutyView_Full table.
I can arrange the pivot report, but there's no data.
When I click the field drop-down in the report a window pops up showing "This Field Has No Items".
Tried refreshing in ACT Diag and creating new Excel workbooks, but still no data.
There IS Opportunity data in the database.

Yes, closed Opportunities are present and Analytics refreshed in ACT Diag.
Tried on a couple of different databases including the ACT2012Demo databases, get the same result: no data in analytics pivot table.

Despite the fact that I still can't get the Opportunity analytics to work on different databases and on different computers, I have to say that in principle I think "Analytics" in Excel is a great idea.
However, to take it from Developer to mainstream we need some changes.
Firstly, having the Refresh Analytics function hiding away in ACT Diag is just wrong. Most people don't even know that ACT Diag exists. Even if they did users are not going to be pleased at having to open Diagnostics, going to the database list, selecting their database and refreshing the analytics every time they want to generate a fresh report. (And unless you run the refresh you won't know if you've got all the data to report on). The other issue is that as I understand it, you have to run ACT Diag on the server, which is impossible for most users (or is this not the case with the Refresh?)
This functionality should be part of the main ACT program (under Reports, perhaps?).
The next thing I would do is include the two Excel spreadsheets History and Opportunities as standard with the installation, or include some code or macros to generate them on demand, so that to generate the refreshed report you just click the Analytics-History or Analytics-Opportunity items under the Reports menu and the Pivot Table is generated for the current database you are working on. (Most users have but one database).
Clearly there is great potential for developing other types of Analytics reports as well.

Great suggestions Jeff, and I agree. Analytics as it stands is an enablement technology, and isn't highly integrated in the product user interface. Should there be reasonable demand from the market, I'm sure there's ways we can improve the overall discoverability and usability experience.

Jeff, this first rendition of ACT! Analytics includes only Opportunities that have been Closed as either 'Won' or 'Lost', and have an Actual Close Date of today's date or before. Hope this helps!

Yup. Got closed Won/Lost opps in there.
All the colum labels are blank in the Excel pivot table. In fact if you just import as a table rather than a pivot you can see there's no data there.
Is the is Regional issue (I'm using UK version)
I know two other people, one in the UK one in Australia (wonder who that might be?) who also can't get the Opps to work but History does work.

Did you ever find a fix for this?
I have the same issue.
I am running it on the 2012 Demo database. I can get the Histories to work but on the Opps.

No, never did get Opportunities to work properly.
And like most things I've seen no evidence of further developments.
Have to say I did think it was a problem with the UK version, or at least "outside the USA" versions since we witnessed the US version working in the webinar.
