What he is referring to is setting up Sage ACT! Connect with the demo database (ACT2012Demo) in the configuration of Sage ACT! Connect. You select the demo database and sync with it ...the user name for the demo is "Chris Huffman", with no password.

I am really in deep trouble now with this Beta version. I spent almost five hours over the last two days on line with my GOLD tech. Now not only do I not sync with the portal but also with OUTLOOK. After all this time with no resolution, they informed me that this is a database specific problem and there is nothing more that they can do. They told me that they will be contacting you as this Beta version seems to have caused the problem. I am going to call them again today as they feel that I will have to send this to an outside source.
I am less than happy with the time I have to spend on what apparently was caused when Beta installed. My ACT works on a very limited basis.

Are you saying that after you started to test with the BETA now you can't sync to Outlook and your phone? Or you having limited access to the database now? I don't feel that the BETA test would have damaged your database. You could attempt to sync to another database to make sure that this is not the case. Basically set up the BETA to work with another database.

My problems began when I installed the beta version and got worse as I worked with the folks at Gold support. Three people have worked with me and every time they tried something the problem grew. At present I can not sync with the portal, outlook calendar. I have a new iPAD2 and that is what I am trying to sync too. I am in a position now where I am not doing any of the work I need to do, but rather all my time is being spent on trying to solve these new problems.
The support people seem to be adamant that this is a "database specific" problem and there is nothing they can do about it.
I certainly don't accept that as an answer. Everytime they remotely tried to problem solve and every time they stopped things got a little worse.

I seem to be getting in deeper and deeper. In addition to trying to get some answers from this forum, I have spent over 5 hours trying to get someone in GOLD support to help. After the last phone call, I thought the problem was resolved, but when I tried to use the program it had a new glitch. Here is where I stand now;
Every day brings more problems. I don't know what to do. Currently, I am entering all new data on my PC and manually doing the same on SAGE CONNECT. This way it appears on my iPAD.
Not what I hoped for, when I entered the BETA program.

I understand that this is frustrating to you which I can understand. First thing I want you to do is to make a backup of the database before anyhting else is done just to be safe. I have also seen that you have been asked to test with another database. Has this been done yet? If not the the Sage ACT! Connect to wrok with another database just to remove the idea of being database specific. Follow the link below. Go under the Managing Users and Sync Preferencesand follow the section of changing the databases. Select the Demo database. The user name and password for that database is below. Password is blank. Once that is done see if you get the same results as you have been getting with your database and let us know.
