With Sage ACT! Connect you can add or edit a device note which, will sync back to ACT!, or you can view existing notes and histories on the contact. To edit the device note, select the contact and then select the Pencil (edit) from the Contact record. The device note can be found at the bottom of the contact fields while you're in edit mode. After you've entered the note it can be viewed from the Device Note section on the contact.

I have just done what you have suggested and once in the edit screen I notice that some of the entries have a pencil at the side of them, for instance name has a pencil and if I click on it I can then enter a middle name and click save.
However the device note section doesn't have a pencil next to it but it does allow me to enter some text, however once I have clicked save it does store what I have typed. I have now tried 3 times and neither time did it store the text I typed.
I have also tried to add text to the other sections that, once in the edit screen, do not have a pencil on the right hand side of the field and none of these fields save the text I enter. Only the fields that have a pencil at the side, which once clicked text can be entered and saved, keeps the text I enter.

Hello Dan, I am not able to reproduce this in Firefox.
The steps I am using are as follow:
1. Select the Contact
2. In the top right corner click the pencil icon.
3. Click in Device Notes and type what I want.
4. Click the Save Icon.
I tested this with device notes and department as that is another field that does not have the pencil directly next to it either.
Let me know if you are still having trouble with this and we will also test this on a Blackberry.

Thank you for the process and yes this is what I was doing before. I have also tested again this morning using the same process and it still isn't working.
It will allow me to type a note in the Device Note field but after I have pressed save and it goes back to the contact screen the note I have typed has gone. I go back in to edit to check if it is there and it is not. I even check in the History/Notes screen and it is not there either.
So it appears that this function is currently not working on the Blackberry Playbook.

It seems that this thread is starting to work on three different things at once. We do appreciate all of the feedback that you are giving and it is helping, but lets work on one thing at a time so we have no confusion if you don't mind. Which one of the questions would you like to work on first?

Erm I am not sure that it is to be honest.
The whole thread is about being able to add a Note/History entry to a contact. In the beginning there was a + button within the Notes/History screen which never worked on the Playbook. The + button has now disappeared from the Notes/History screen.
Then Brandon mentioned a way of adding a Device note within a contact and this method does not work on the Playbook, I have tested it multiple times.
So I guess the current question is can you get the Device Note method working on a Playbook?

The recent update from my understanding removed the plus sign which was not supposed to be there in the first place. So the instructions that Brandon provided did not work. Do you get any error message at all? What Browser does the Palybook use?

No error message, as soon as you click save it returns to the contact page but it doesn't save the Device Note anywhere.
The playbook has a Native browser and doesn't use IE, Firefox, Chrome or Opera but it does support HTML 5.

I have just tried this issue on the Blackberry Torch 9800 and it works, it saves the device note. Again I used the native Blackberry browser on the smartphone.
